Teldar was born to Maxil Foxcloud, captain in the Greystone militia. He grew up as a lower class citizen with his mother and sister on their farm within Barony of Greystone. As he grew up, Teldar learned the ways of farm life, how to cook and how to ride a horse. During the times that his father was home, he learned the ways being a soldier. He learned of honor and duty to one’s lord. When he finally came of age, Teldar joined the milita himself in his father’s footsteps.
During his years of service, he spent many nights quartered at the Greystone’s manor pending assignment. It was there that he caught sight of Andrea Greystone, the Baron’s only daughter. The young man immediately fell in love with the baron’s daughter. He took every moment to see her and talk with her (in passing of course). He knew that they could not be together though. She was of higher station and the only way for them to be together was for Teldar to find a way to raise in station.
After his depressing realization, the barony finally fell into a peroid of no threats which only made matters worse. No threat meant no chance for honor and glory which meant no chance of gaining recognition. So Teldar was left to his own devices which mainly consisted of practicing with his bow, cooking meals for his mother and sister and tending to the crops. During a fateful autumn harvest, bad omens began to come upon the Foxcloud family. Their harvest spoiled quickly and the livestock began to turn lame. Just as it seemed that the luck was at its worst, Teldar’s sister Ryl was bitten by a snake and his mother took ill with fever. The young man was forced to send them to the monastery in Grieul in hopes that they could recover. With nothing left, Teldar knew that he had to step out into the world and find help.
With his one good riding horse, his bow and a pouch of coin, Teldar set out to the West in hopes of finding help for his family and a title for his one true love.
